Are you ready to TRANSFORM?

By | News | No Comments

It’s been a hell of a year I think we can all agree! Emerging a little bit bruised around the edges, we have soldiered on and for that we should all be incredibly proud. But as the light at the end of the tunnel starts to glimmer (we can see it twinkling there somewhere in the distance!) it too presents an opportunity for businesses to emerge from the Covid chrysalis and start to find their wings again. Because despite any challenges that may lie ahead, when it comes to your business you didn’t come this far to only come this far.  It’s a mantra that is very close our hearts. (By ‘our’ I mean of course, myself Nina Walton and my lovely colleague and brand buddy Sarah ) In fact, it’s much more than a mantra but the driving force behind our ‘why’ in business and what has led us to create and deliver a new brand and marketing programme for clients – cue …. the TRANSFORM Programme. As brand, marketing and content specialists and owners of our own businesses, Walton Marketing & Communications and Absolute Brand Co., for many years we have independently provided a range of services to a number of longstanding…

Challenging year but record growth forecast for The Metnor Group

By | Client PR Stories | No Comments

Consolidated accounts released today by The Metnor Group show a reduction in turnover for 2020 due to the pandemic but record growth is forecast thanks to a strong order pipeline and prestigious new contracts. Based in Newcastle, The Metnor Group comprises three main trading divisions which operate in the construction, mechanical and electrical services and pressure testing sectors. Each division is a specialist in its own field and this individual expertise combined with the strength of the Group’s resources enables the company to deliver first class products and services to their customers and clients. Like many other firms in the construction industry, the effect of COVID-19 has been seen across the Group. The impact of site closures – as provisions were made to operate safely and within Government guidelines – together with additional costs as sites were re-mobilised at reduced capacity, has resulted in both decreased turnover and margins.  Turnover achieved in 2019 was £92 million whilst it was £68 million in 2020 and gross profit has been squeezed from 8.5% to 5.7%. Chris Cant, CEO of Metnor Group said: “2020 was undoubtedly a very challenging year for the Metnor Group. The pandemic threw a number of challenges at us,…

Marketing through the mayhem

By | News | No Comments

The last few months has certainly provided seismic shifts for all areas of our personal and professional lives. I’m not going to lie, at the start it was like a massive wave of paralysis and shock. I’m sure many of us can relate to the drowning sea of uncertainty that washed over as we adjusted to the multiple roles of parent, chef, business owner, manager, employee and anti bac hand cleaner extraordinaire! As in our lives, we have similarly had to find new ways of making our livelihoods work, showing empathy to customers and employees and pivoting our products and services to stay relevant. For some this has sadly meant pausing altogether. And whilst things are certainly far from ‘normal’, as shops open their doors this week, it does feel like the green shoots of a new tomorrow are starting to emerge as we begin to take baby steps back to something more familiar – a new phase of covid-mania! With no crystal ball to predict exactly what lies ahead, and with businesses at different stages of re-emergence, how do brands continue to communicate with their customers and maintain profile in line with the changing wave of the pandemic? And what can…
